What Are My Treatment Options?

For patients with CSID, Sucraid® (sacrosidase) Oral Solution and/or dietary management are the two primary treatment options. Once a diagnosis of CSID has been made, the patient and caregiver should work with a qualified registered dietitian (RD). Working with an RD will help patients and caregivers review dietary restrictions and develop an understanding of food content, food labels, and ingredients, including alternative food and additive names. Unfortunately, most RDs have not worked with many CSID patients. However, RDs should be able to educate patients and caregivers on general nutritional needs and offer guidance for a sucrose-free and/or a low-starch diet as needed.
